Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Jan 20
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes comes from 60- to 80-year-old vines and is matured in 25% new oak. It has more refinement and delineation on the nose compared to the regular village cru, offering blackberry, briar and touches of wild strawberry. The fresh palate delivers a superb line of acidity and almost sorbet-like freshness. Veins of orange zest and marmalade appear toward the vibrant finish. Superb.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
